Nemours is seeking a Desk Side Project Supervisor (Desk Side Support), FULL-TIME, to join our Nemours Children's Hospital team in Orlando, Florida.
Located in Orlando, Fla., Nemours Children’s Hospital is the newest addition to the Nemours integrated healthcare system. Our 100-bed pediatric hospital also features the area’s only 24-hour Emergency Department designed just for kids as well as outpatient pediatric clinics including several specialties previously unavailable in the region. A hospital designed by families for families, Nemours Children’s Hospital blends the healing power of nature with the latest in healthcare innovation to deliver world-class care to the children of Central Florida and beyond. In keeping with our goal of bringing Nemours care into the communities we serve, we also provide specialty outpatient care in several clinics located throughout the region.
This position reports directly to the Manager of Desk Side. The primary responsibilities of this position is to lead and direct the daily activities of the Desk Side Project team. Project technicians will report directly to this position. The position will allocate, prioritize and manage the daily work by distributing the workload across the team to accomplish project goals. Examples of projects include coordinating desktop equipment moves, conducting new Desk Side technology tests, recommending hardware requirements for Nemours site acquisitions and manage, maintain and implement a 5-year HW refresh plan.
This is a hands on position that requires the ability to document, maintain, upgrade or replace hardware and software systems including PC’s, Monitors, Printers, Scanners, work station on wheels etc. The ability to plan, coordinate and collaborate with project managers with in Facilities and other IS teams is necessary. The role requires a familiarity with all IS Department’s and the organization’s practices and procedures. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. The position may require an associate's degree or its equivalent. The role requires at least 5 years of experience in the field or in a related area.
Provide daily direction, coaching and mentoring of staff including hiring, regular rounding, coaching and mentoring of direct reports.
Oversee the Desk Side Project Team’s daily activity: Recommend consultant staffing needs to ramp up during times of increased workload, plan activities, and provide senior level update on project activities.
Manage Inventory: Order and Maintain monthly stock, related to projects, coordinate with Desk Side Operations to balance and track inventory and open tickets for work performed. Assign ticket to Desk side Technician for configuration and delivery.
Coordination with other departments and IS teams involving new remote site evaluations and implementation plans to enable a practice to operate with Nemours standard hardware and workflows. Coordination of IS equipment required workflows, quotes and installation schedule for new site builds and acquisitions.
Work with Customers – Provide quotes for equipment, respond to any technical related questions about equipment, and escalate customer concerns to IS managers when necessary.
Coordinate Desk side Project team activity as needed for moves, both regular business needs and project related. Partner with Operations team lead for additional staffing for large moves. Work with other I.S. teams to ensure all parts of move are managed.
Coordinate and respond appropriately to Patient Entertainment system (Get Well Network) tickets. Work with other IS teams to provide Get Well Network support, replacement and upgrade projects.
Desk side Projects – manage large scale hardware deployment including Operating system upgrades, ongoing Hardware replacement (Pc’s, laptops, Cows, batteries, bar code scanners, printers, other IS supported hardware. Work with Desk side manager to create Project Plans and produce timely, accurate and detailed reports.
Quarterly, review hardware standards to ensure current hardware meets specifications. Evaluate this with current environment. Coordinate updates as needed.
Partner with Service Desk Manager – Work through issues that arise from call outs or ticket discrepancies. Keep up Inter-Team cooperation working smoothly.
Maintains Visibility Wall relating to ongoing projects, including daily metrics, and DMH standard operations for huddle workflows.
High School Diploma required. Specialized (1 year of training beyond high school); Associate's Degree preferred.
Minimum of five (5) + years experience in the field or in a related area required.
Highly organized and detailed oriented.
