Michigan Medicine Ambulatory Care facility at Saline Health Center is dedicated to providing high quality health care services for adults and children. We are actively seeking a compassionate, enthusiastic, patient and team oriented Medical Assistant who will share in the goal of creating the ideal experience for our patients, families and employees.
The selected candidate must provide exceptional customer service for patients and families in a fast paced General Medicine, Pediatric and specialty clinic (Gastroenterology and Endocrinology) outpatient clinic. Selected candidate must excel in patient intake, direct patient care, data entry, patient preparation for procedures, medication administration, injections, Point of Care testing (i.e. glucose, urinalysis, etc.), EKGs, assisting with procedures, collecting specimens, sterilization/cleaning of equipment, stocking exam/treatment rooms. Selected candidate will perform a variety of administrative duties.
High School Diploma or GED.
Graduation from a Medical Assistant program or an equivalent combination of education and:
Knowledge of basic medical terminology.
Moderate standing/walking, as well as, lifting, positioning, pushing and/or transferring patients.
Exceptional interpersonal skills and ability to work well within a team setting.
Demonstrates active listening, written, verbal and information.
At the MA Associate level:
1-3 year's of experience
At the MA Assistant level:
0-1 years of experience
Certification as a Medical Assistant.
Reasonable knowledge of methods, materials and equipment used in patient care activities.
Comfortable working with patients of all ages, pediatric to geriatric.
Demonstrate effective time management skills, ability to multi task and work with minimal supervision.
Experience in clinic, medical office or other Ambulatory Care setting.
Competence with computer usage, MiChart, telephone etiquette and other office procedures.
Experience working within a large, complex healthcare setting.
Knowledge of university policies & procedures.
Monday - Friday with Saturday rotation, including evening hours (40 hours wk).
Must be available and flexible with varying schedule.
This position may be underfilled at a lower classification depending on the qualifications of the selected candidate.
