The Medication Safety Coordinator ensures that Cook Children's Medical Center continually analyzes and improves the use of medications throughout the continuum of care. The Medication Safety Coordinator is an advocate for preventing and reducing errors associated with the use of medications and medication related processes at Cook Children's Medical Center. This position works in close cooperation with the Medication Safety Team, Patient and Medication Safety Officer, Risk Management, Nursing and Ancillary Clinical services.
Bachelors degree in a clinical or healthcare related field is required
Minimum of 3 years of experience in an acute care facility or 1 year of experience in health care quality, process improvement or operations required
Must have knowledge of regulatory standards in pharmacy and healthcare
Strong presentation skills and demonstrated expertise of Microsoft Applications Suite is required
Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification must be obtained within 2 years of employment
Experience with statistical software (Minitab, SAS, SPSS, Tableau) preferred but not required
