The Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at UC Davis School of Medicine is recruiting for a full-time (100% time) academic Physiatrist in Pediatric Sports & Musculoskeletal Medicine. The position will serve as a faculty member at either the Assistant, Associate or Professor rank in the Health Sciences Clinical Professor series. The academic rank and series of the position is commensurate with the level of experience and qualifications of the applicant. The UC Davis Department of PM&R is the premier rehabilitation service provider in the greater Sacramento region, and is based on the UC Davis Health campus in Sacramento, California. Sacramento is an easily accessible, family-oriented city in close proximity to the San Francisco Bay area, Lake Tahoe and the Sierra Nevada Mountains, the California coast, and Napa Valley. Requirements This position will provide pediatric outpatient physical medicine and rehabilitation clinical care for the UC Davis Sports Medicine Clinic, Primary Care Network with the potential to provide school-based rehabilitation clinics for Cerebral Palsy and other diagnosis through Shriners Hospital for Children Northern California. This position will also include the teaching of residents and medical students and will provide both formal didactic sessions and clinical supervision for students, residents and fellows, as well as participate in departmental meetings, conferences, hospital and departmental committees. This position will participate in evening/weekend/holiday call for UC Davis PM&R inpatient pediatric rehabilitation call. Basic Qualifications The candidate must possess an M.D. or D.O. degree, have completed an approved physical medicine and rehabilitation residency program, be board certified or eligible in Physical Medicine and fellowship trained in pediatric rehabilitation medicine. Fellowship training in sports medicine is highly desired. The candidate must be eligible for licensure in the State of California and/or have an active California medical license prior to appointment start date. Candidates must have the ability to work cooperatively and collegially within a diverse environment and adhere to University policy and procedures. Demonstrated teaching experience in an academic clinical setting is preferred.
