The primary job responsibilities of the Transfer Center Coordinator are to receive and process telephone calls requesting assistance with patient transfers to Children's Hospital and/or admissions of patients from other medical facilities. The Transfer Center Coordinator must demonstrate the highest level of customer service while coordinating each request. In addition, this person is responsible for afterhours phone triage advice to patients and patient families from medical practices that are contracted with Children's Hospital to receive afterhours phone support. The Transfer Center coordinates all bed management throughout the hospital and offers a highly collaborative atmosphere where quick decision-making skills are favored.
The ideal candidate will:
Demonstrate exceptional customer service skills while promptly answering, evaluating and prioritizing incoming requests for service.
Have strong organizational skills.
Possess the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
Collaborate effectively with hospital staff, admin reps, medical staff and on-call specialists, as well as patient families.
Perform basic data entry and work within more than software program; demonstrate ability to learn new computer programs and perform some advanced data entry
Minimum Work Experience
Pediatric nursing experience preferred
Ambulatory and urgent/emergent care preferred
Required Licenses/Certifications for position
