Picture this! It is your second day off of residency orientation and your patient is having difficulty breathing. Have the months of preceptor led training have prepared you to manage this situation? Yes, you quickly engage your critical thinking skills to coordinate and relay the plan of care with the multi-disciplinary team, your patient and their family. The preparation you received during your ChristianaCare residency program has brought you the confidence and proficiency graduates require as they transition to a new practicing nurse.
We know through empirical research, graduate nurses who go through a residency program have a higher success rate in practice. Therefore, we are committed to supporting all nurses with under a year of experience through a nurse residency program!
