This position is a highly versatile position and the occupant will have to perform a variety of administrative, secretarial, and office support duties. This position will provide administrative support for nursing and patient access services. Duties performed may include preparation of documents and reports, the use of office technology, compiling records, organizing and maintaining files, posting information, greeting/referring/assisting visitors/clients/staff/others, mail distribution, and photocopying. Additionally, this position has a strong customer service component working with internal and external customers. Excellent customer service is important for this role as it relates to speaking with external and internal customers to convey or exchange information from an administrative perspective. The administrative support associate is a critical member of the nursing administrative team and patient access service team and will have to function with the highest degree of independence and minimum direction. Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, reception/telephone responsibilities, purchasing, travel, and general administrative support. The person in this position should have knowledge of the office or work unit policies and procedures in order to communicate information. Positions may serve as the primary staff assistant to a department or program manager.
