The Pharmacist, focused in overseeing sterile compounding in the central pharmacy, will provide professional pharmaceutical services to patients, healthcare providers and hospital staff. The Pharmacist ensures safe, optimal pharmaceutical therapy outcomes through the verification and dispensing of medication. This position will take a lead role by directly supervising technician staff and holding them accountable to regulations related to proper aseptic techniques. All sterile compounding activities are done in accordance with established policies, procedures and state/federal regulations with the health and welfare of the patient paramount. Preferred candidates have experience in sterile compounding in an acute care hospital setting, pediatrics preferred. Ideal candidates have a goal of obtaining the BCSCP certification through the Board of Pharmaceutical specialties.
Graduate from an American Council accredited school of pharmacy
Texas Pharmacy license or eligible for Texas license to practice as a registered Pharmacist is required
Must obtain a Texas Pharmacy license and a Pharmacy Preceptor license within 90 days of employment (new graduates must obtain their Preceptor license within 90 days after one year of being licensed as a Pharmacist)
Current Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers CPR certification is required
