The Seattle Cancer Care Alliance (SCCA), located in Seattle, Washington, is part of a dynamic collaboration among three organizations known nationally and internationally for their patient care and research: Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center, University of Washington, and Seattle Children's. Over the past 25 years, these institutions have worked together to support their mission of adult and pediatric oncology patient care services, research and education.
TheProgram Assistant for the Advanced Practice Program is a member of a dynamic team of 160+ APPs in an oncology setting. The Program Assistant primarily works under the direction of the Administrative Manager with opportunities for professional development and growth. This position requires an individual who can contribute to the ongoing success of the APP and APP Fellowship Programs and is committed to continuous process improvement. A team player with integrity, a sense of humor, an ability to shift work priorities quickly, and who can also work independently and collaboratively will be integral to the success of achieving the mission and goals of the program. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills (verbal and written), the ability to work in an environment that interfaces with multiple organizations, sites, and stakeholders, be professional, focused, detail-oriented, resourceful and responsive to program needs.
Assists with onboarding and orientation of new Advanced Practice Providers and APP Fellows
Organizes and provides support for on-site APP meetings and lectures, as needed
Tracks APP attendance, CME spending, and maintains time off calendar
Creates and maintains policies and program documents
Performs administrative duties including supply orders, IT requests, distributing mail, etc.
Assist with APP/APP Fellow recruitment including preparation of materials for applicants and interviewers
Prepares reimbursement requests for ACLS and CME travel
Attend APP meetings and take minutes, as needed
Actively participates in the upholding and increasing program morale and team-building
Administrative support as needed to Program Director, Associate Directors, and Administrative Manager including calendar management
Other duties as assigned
High school graduate or equivalent. BA/BS preferred
Ability to work independently, organize, and prioritize concurrent responsibilities and demands
Ability to communicate verbally in person, on the phone, and in writing, in a professional, clear, and concise manner
Two years work experience in an administrative role (clinical, medical, or hospital environment preferred)
Proficiency in MS Office applications including Word, Outlook, PowerPoint and Excel required
Ability to work professionally and flexibly in a fast-paced and complex health care environment
Ability to review work with attention to detail and accuracy
Demonstrated commitment to integrity and quality in work and in interpersonal communication

Seattle Cancer Care Alliance is a cancer treatment center that unites doctors from Fred Hutchison Cancer Research Center, University of Washington Medical Center, and Seattle Children’s. The purpose of this organization is to provide state-of the-art patient and family centered care; support the conduct of cancer clinical research and education; enhance access to improved cancer interventions; and advance the standard of cancer care regionally and beyond. The Seattle Cancer Care Alliance is the only NCI-designated comprehensive cancer center in the Northwest, and according to the National Cancer Data Base, Seattle Cancer Care Alliance patients in general have better survival rates than patients treated at other cancer treatment centers.
