The Seattle Cancer Care Alliance (SCCA), located in Seattle, Washington, is part of a dynamic collaboration among three organizations known nationally and internationally for their patient care and research: Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center, University of Washington, and Seattle Children's. Over the past 25 years, these institutions have worked together to support their mission of adult and pediatric oncology patient care services, research and education.
The Program Assistant IV works as an integral part of our team. The ideal candidate has the ability to maintain workplace relationships and maintain regular attendance.
Float coverage for vacations and absences in various roles
Coverage for Inpatient Coordinator, facilitating inpatient care with the University of Washington
Creates and monitors admit encounters and insurance authorization requests in Epic
Triage phone calls and email requests from providers, staff, and patients
Monitoring and processing incoming and outgoing PHI
Various report tracking and auditing
Requesting of medical records and information as directed
Maintaining relationships with clinical staff and patients
Maintaining organization of personal desk and clinical office
Familiarity with Microsoft Office
High School diploma or equivalent
Regular attendance and punctuality are essential functions of this job in order to carry out the primary responsibilities
Undergeneral supervision, ability to use initiative and sound judgment in carrying out responsibilities
Ability to communicate verbally in person, on the phone, and in writing in a clear and concise manner
Ability to use a mouse, navigate computer programs, enter data into computer systems in accurately and efficiently
Ability to work in a fast paced, complex healthcare environment
Ability to establish professional relationships with patients, families, staff and providers
Bachelor's Degree or higher education
Demonstrated customer service skills

The Seattle Cancer Care Alliance was incorporated in 1998 as a separate, jointly governed non-profit that included the cancer programs of three partners. Seattle Cancer Care Alliance is a cancer treatment center that unites doctors from Fred Hutchison Cancer Research Center, University of Washington Medical Center, and Seattle Children’s. The purpose of this organization is to provide state-of the-art patient and family centered care; support the conduct of cancer clinical research and education; enhance access to improved cancer interventions; and advance the standard of cancer care regionally and beyond. The Seattle Cancer Care Alliance is the only NCI-designated comprehensive cancer center in the Northwest, and according to the National Cancer Data Base, Seattle Cancer Care Alliance patients in general have better survival rates than patients treated at other cancer treatment centers.
