The Department of Pathology at the UPMC Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh of, invites interested applicants for a full-time Faculty appointment as Assistant/Associate/Professor level (tenure or nontenure) depending on qualifications. The successful candidate is expected to have strong Anatomic Pathology diagnostic skills and a commitment to academic endeavors, including clinical service, research and teaching activities.
The Department of Pathology at CHP has approximately 12, 000 Surgical Pathology accessions, 2000 cytological specimens and 40 pediatric autopsies per year. The Anatomic Pathology section is currently staffed by 6 faculty members, in addition to subspecialty support rendered by members of other divisions in the Department of Pathology of the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. Our material ranges from the routine examples of pediatric disease to cases of the highest complexity of modern medicine. Our Department has an ACGME accredited fellowship program in Pediatric Pathology, and we emphasize academic work with the fellows, with mentoring opportunities for the Faculty. Our facilities at the UPMC Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh opened in 2009, and count with 296 pediatric beds and over 13,006 admissions per year. The John G. Rangos Sr. Research Center is a 300, 000 square-foot state-of-the-art facility in our campus, housing a large group of researchers and academic Departments performing world-class research.
Candidates must have an M.D./M.D.,Ph.D degree or equivalent, and be board-certified in AP/CP or AP. Preference will be given to candidates who completed formal training in an ACGME accredited Pediatric Pathology Fellowship program and are either Board Certified or eligible for special certification in Pediatric Pathology.
