Cook Children's Health Care System is looking for a Postdoctoral Research Fellow II who will be responsible for the acquisition, rigorous analysis, and presentation of clinical and research data through the use of statistical, algorithmic, mining, and visualization techniques. You will:
conduct data analysis
prepares scientific manuscripts and grants
In addition to advanced analytic skills, you will be proficient at programming specialized software tools for the analysis of large datasets of clinical and research data. As our Post-Doctoral Fellow II, you will also provide technical, programming and statistical consultation, guidance, and expert advice to students, research assistants, and Postdoctoral Research Fellows I. You will be a resource for technical, programming, and statistical activities, maintaining an extensive working knowledge of methodological or conceptual developments in fields such as neuroscience, biostatistics, pharmacology, life sciences, and social sciences.
This training position is for three-years with a possibility of advancement to Postdoctoral Research Fellow II depending on productivity and funding availability.
Doctorate degree in a related field of the performed research
3+ years of relevant professional experience with data collection, data processing, programming, and statistical methods
Previous experience of 3+ years in a postdoctoral position
Demonstrated expertise in the collection and analysis of complex clinical and research data
Demonstrated expertise in identifying the underlying principles, reasons, or facts of information by breaking down information or data into separate parts
Demonstrated expertise of programming languages
Demonstrated scientific productivity through at least three publications as first author in scientific journals indexed in PubMed
Excellent knowledge of the statistical theories
Previous experience with statistical or methodological support of clinical data
Excellent writing and editing skills
Familiarity with basic principles of databases
Demonstrable ability to quickly understand new concepts and to develop original solutions to mathematical issues
Good communication and interpersonal skills
Knowledge of principles of research and federal regulations
Strong organizational skills and be detail oriented
Excellent interpersonal and oral, written and electronic interpersonal communication skills
