Required Qualifications (as evidenced by an attached resume):
Ph.D. degree (or foreign equivalent) in Biology, Biochemistry or a related field. Experience in biochemical analysis, molecular and cell biological techniques, and working experience in cell culture techniques in an academic setting. Experience in conducting research projects in biochemistry, biology or cancer-related studies, and at least one first-authored publication in peer-reviewed journal in one of these fields.
Working experience with xenograft mouse studies or genetic mouse handling. Experience in immunofluorescence and fluorescent or confocal microscopy. Experience in flow cytometry.
Brief Description of Duties:
The Postdoctoral Associate will incumbent directly assist the Principal Investigator in the Department of Pharmacological Sciences for conducting experiments for sponsored research funded by NIH and Foundation Grants. The incumbent must have a high degree of integrity, organization and communication skills. The incumbent must be able to conduct research projects and design experiments independently. Supervision and on-the-job training will be provided in specific methods and techniques. The incumbent will need to participate in manuscript writing for publication and may assist in grant writing. Under the direction of the Principal Investigator, design and conduct experiments related to cancer signaling and biology.
Data collection, analysis and presentation; participate in manuscript writing for publication and may assist in grant writing.
Perform other duties as assigned such as training new personnel.
