The primary function of the Anesthesia Clinical Coordinator is to coordinate educational programs for certified registered nurse anesthetists (CRNA) and registered resident nurse anesthetists (RRNA) in the Department of Anesthesia. The position will be a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist that fulfills a clinical component and maintains the readiness of the department through facilitating new educational opportunities and enhances current processes. The Coordinator will have oversight of the RRNA program, departmental training, development of protocols and fulfilment of preceptorship of new CRNAs with the ability to delegate as necessary to optimize the educational goals of the participants. The Coordinator will collaborate with the Education department and assist in educational opportunities for ancillary staff. The position will require strong interpersonal skills, ability to collaborate across departmental lines and with educational institutions. The educational opportunities under the direction of the Coordinator will maintain the values and goals of the Cook Children’s promise while ensuring that care is optimized through an evidence based practice approach that enhances the quality of care provided daily through Cook Childrens. The Anesthesia Clinical Coordinator will assist the CRNA Managers to provide appropriate interventions and protocols as deemed necessary to facilitate the goals of the department and Cook Children’s. Minimum of a Master’s Degree and CRNA licensure. Minimum of 12 months clinical experience. Pediatric experience preferred. Doctoral degree preferred. Current Texas professional registered nurse license required.
