The University of Michigan, Department of Cardiac Surgery, Section of Pediatric Cardiac Surgery is seeking a Clinical Track faculty member. Primary responsibility will be to serve as a cardiac surgeon at C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital and Von Voigtlander Women’s Hospital. Will be required to provide on-call coverage as part of your assignment. This on-call duty is shared by fellow faculty in the Section of Pediatric Cardiovascular Surgery and may vary depending on staffing availability. Will need to be flexible in providing backup coverage and clinical reassignments as needed. Successful candidate will also be expected to participate in the education of medical students, residents, and fellows who are rotating through the inpatient and outpatient services.
The preferred candidate will have an MD or DO degree and completed an ACGME-accredited thoracic surgery residency and should be proficient in all such aspects of adult cardiac surgery. Experience is desired in pediatric cardiac surgery. The candidate must possess exceptional teamwork, program development and mentorship abilities. Evidence of clinical competence and competence in clinical and didactic teaching is expected. Preferred candiidate must possess or be eligible for a full and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in State of Michigan and is required.
This position is posted as a Pediatric Cardiac Surgery Clinical Assistant Professor/Clinical Associate Professor. Rank of selected candidate is dependent upon qualifications.
