An independent contributing IT professional within the Epic Security Coordinator family developing and applying expertise in Epic security disciplines that support Cook Children's Epic Security infrastructure. Jobs in this family are responsible for developing, testing, maintaining, installing, and/or deploying technologies. In addition, they are responsible for the establishment, development, and promotion of standard architectures, as well as hardware and software components. This role provides consulting services to Epic application development teams and/or customers regarding technologies and the application of specific technology standards. Disciplines for this job description include: incident handling; security and risk assessments; threat mitigation; patch management; Access management to include Epic account and password management, resource access policy and design, information access controls, design and implementation; the collation and reporting of Epic security event information, including incident, response and resolution duties; and the production of monthly management and exception reports. This role provides Epic security services to other teams and/or customers regarding the security of technologies and the application of Epic security to industry and/or business standards. Other disciplines include ability to communicate Epic security technical concepts to a non-technical audience, project multi-tasking; mentoring junior staff; and leading security team in the performance of their assigned disciplines. Other disciplines include ability to communicate technical concepts to a non-technical audience, project multi-tasking; mentoring junior staff; and assisting Lead Analyst in the performance of his/her duties.
Position requires at least 5 years of direct experience and a high school diploma or equivalent OR an Associate's Degree in IS and at least 4 years of direct experience.
BA/BS degree in IS or Business is preferred.
Licensure, Registration, and/or Certification:
Epic Security Coordinator training and certification is required.
Relevant Information Technology certifications preferred.
