Is searching for a pediatric ophthalmology at the assistant professor level, MD in ophthalmology with at least one year of subspecialty training in pediatric ophthalmology. Focus will be in patient care, teaching and research. Duties will include didactic and clinical training of residents and fellows. UPMC is a large, diversified, multihospital, tertiary care medical institution. Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh of UPMC is one of the top ten pediatric hospitals in the United States with outstanding clinical, teaching and research opportunities both at clinical and basic science levels. The department is expanding and has recently moved into a brand new pediatric ophthalmology suite and testing facility. Additionally, we have a dedicated molecular biologist, vision scientist and electrophysiologist, together with a research coordinator and two dedicated ophthalmo-genetic counselors. This position will be based at Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh of UPMC Lawrenceville with clinics at nearby satellite offices and surgery centers. All applicants will be encouraged to develop an area of subspecialist interest. The department is very well equipped with collagen cross linking available, a myopia treatment center and all the latest imaging equipment including integrated intraoperative OCT, eye movement recordings and full visual electrophysiology lab.
