The Transport Nurse will work in collaboration with RTs and Paramedics, in providing care to the Neonatal and Pediatric population in all modes of transport, including ground ambulance, rotor wing and fixed wing aircraft. This person must possess critical thinking skills while practicing sound judgement throughout the transport process in varied settings. The Transport RN will function as a team member while upholding the mission, vision and values of Cook Children’s Health Care System. This position requires a self-motivated individual and will expect strong communication and customer service skills.
Graduate of an accredited nursing program
Associates degree required, BSN preferred
Current license to practice professional Nursing in State of Texas
Minimum of 3 years of recent NICU, PICU and/or Pediatric Emergency Department experience or 3 years of current Neonatal /Pediatric Transport experience
CPR – BLS and PALS required with ACLS and NRP required within 90 days of hire
Current EMT or Paramedic license or must obtain within 1 year of hire
Current Advanced Certification (in area of practice and as approved by CCMC) or must obtain within 18 months of hire
