Full Time Child Life Specialist Inpatient Pediatrics (including PICU)

The Department of Child Life & Developmental Services is a well-established service that is seen as an integral part of comprehensive, holistic family-centered medical care for children and teens.
The Department of Child Life and Developmental Services at Bellevue Hospital is seeking a full time child life specialist for the inpatient pediatric medical unit and PICU.
Child life covers 25 bed general pediatric unit and currently a 5 bed ICU which will be expanding after renovation as part of the recent Trauma 2 Peds designation.
Responsibilities: • Daily rounds with residents, nurses and social work.
Psychological support and preparation for painful procedures
Weekly psycho-social interdisciplinary rounds
Plan and implement multi-age group activities in playroom
Supervision and training of volunteers and child life interns if eligible
• Child Life Certification or certification eligible
• Two years’ work experience as a child life specialist
• Fluent in Spanish preferred (Mandarin or Bengla also considered)
