The Department of Emergency Medicine at Baylor Scott & White Medical Center - Temple is currently recruiting a full-time academic Emergency Medicine or Pediatric Emergency Medicine physician. This full-time, employed faculty position includes an appointment at Texas A&M College of Medicine with protected time for teaching, a competitive salary, performance bonus, comprehensive benefits package, and no state income tax. Candidates must be board-certified or board-eligible in Emergency Medicine or Pediatric Emergency Medicine. This position will be available in July 2021.
We are located in the city of Temple in beautiful central Texas, an hour north of Austin. We are an academic department with an emergency medicine residency entering its 29th year. We have 42 emergency medicine residents and 31 faculty covering two Emergency Departments.
Baylor Scott & White Medical Center - Temple is our main site: a 51 bed ED, Level 1 Trauma - Certified Stroke - Tertiary Referral Center with an annual census of 75,000 visits. Our hospital was ranked #5 in the Fortune / IBM Watson Top Teaching Hospitals 2020.
Baylor Scott & White McLane Children's Medical Center is a 20 bed, Level II Trauma Center for children with an annual census of 29,000 visits. We have 24/7 PICU support and a pediatric clinic that houses nearly 40 specialties next door to the hospital. This ED is completely staffed by our faculty, both EM and PEM, supervising EM and pediatric residents.
