Fairview Northland Medical Centers emergency Department has ED trained physicians, along with midlevel providers, RNs, EDTs, and NSAs. We care for a variety of illnesses and see pediatric to geriatric patients.
Level IV trauma center and is also Stroke ready Designated by the MN Department of Health.
The departments bed capacity is 17 which includes 2 trauma/critical care rooms, 2 behavioral health rooms.
We also treat our infusion patients after hours and weekends, when our infusion department is closed.
We consult with DEC for our behavioral patients and SANE for our forensic examinations.

The Emergency Department Technician is directly accountable to the Provider, ED Charge RN and RNs delegating tasks. This position is also responsible for department support activities done independently. The ED Tech must be a mature and competent, self-directed individual who must demonstrate ability to prioritize assigned tasks and work in partnership with the RN. The ED Tech is accountable for all patient care he/she delivers. Age ranges of patients served are pediatrics, adolescents, adults and geriatrics.
1-3 years of medical experience
Attend regular inservices, education programs, staff and department meetings
Other duties as directed by the Charge RN such as wound care, IV starts, phlebotomy, splint applications, and EKGs.
