Summary The Cardiac Cath/EP Coordinator’s primary duty is to manage the care and treatment of patients undergoing cardiac catheterization diagnostic, interventional, and cardiac arrhythmias in both the outpatient and inpatient setting. The nursing care is based on the nursing process and augments the medical plan of treatment. The Cardiac RN acts as a liaison between the patient, family, physicians, catheterization staff and Heart Center program. This position is responsible for the identification of cardiac dysrhythmias, assisting with the management and treatment of patients with cardiac arrhythmias, pacemakers, and/or defibrillators as well as schedule procedures, provide admission and discharge instructions, and counsel patients and families throughout the process.
