You Will Be Responsible For:

  • Works with other team members to proactively identify issues and problems.
  • Demonstrates respect and understanding to all customers.
  • Demonstrates a variety of communication styles for varying caller groups including children, adolescents, young adults, senior adults and geriatric adults.
  • Maintaining confidentiality of patient and business information.
  • Provides timely response to patient requests.
  • Interprets patient request, selects appropriate message via Rauland system, and sends message to the appropriate caregiver or department.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Demonstrates sound decision-making skills.
  • Follows department standard methodology and defined workflows.
  • Assists in the problem analysis for communication equipment, patient call stations, paging/pager.

Qualifications

What You Will Need:
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
 
 
Job Summary:

The Central Communication Specialist (Switchboard Operator) works in a fast-paced, stimulating role which requires excellent problem solving and multi-tasking skills.  S/he answers internal patient call lights and follows through with the appropriate response/action to complete each encounter.  This position will be proficient in the use of the Rauland Nurse Call system.
