SUMMARY: A nurse who provides clinical leadership and functions in the role of expert clinician, educator, and consultant. Manages the needs of the patients with complex needs related to skin, wound and ostomy, care, deliver patient care at an expert level, demonstrate leadership skills and serve as a resource. Provides education to the patient/family and members of the health care team. Monitors quality outcomes and enhances care practice through evidence based policies and procedures, research, and implementation of new techniques, equipment, products and processes for safe, cost-effective, quality care for the prevention of skin breakdown, and provision of care for the patient with skin, wound and ostomy needs.This position practices within the scope of the California Nursing Practices Act and in accordance with healthcare organizations policies and under the direction of the Chief Nursing Officer.
REQUIREMENTS: This position requires a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing, a valid CA RN license and a minimum of 2 years experience and expertise in a clinical nursing specialty as an RN . Five (5) years experience in specialty area is preferred. Either a Certified Wound & Ostomy Nurse (CWON), Certified Wound Care Nurse (CWCN) or Certified Ostomy Care Nurse (COCN) is required. Must have extensive advanced knowledge of nursing principles, and clinical practice.
