Summary

This is a half-time position (24 hours per week) with the possibility of working additional hours when there is a need. The ideal candidate will be available to work late evenings (7PM-3AM) Wednesday through Friday. There are additional work opportunities through scheduled work shifts each day and evening of the week and through overnight and weekend on-call shifts.

The intake department: Provides assessments in the Emergency Department and over the phone to determine appropriate level of care and treatment. Provides crisis intervention and telephone triage for caregivers seeking appointments for behavioral health services. Completes precertification utilization reviews with insurance companies. Coordinates admissions and transfers of behavioral health patients.

Education & Experience

  • Master's level in Social Work or related field
  • Hospital experience preferred
  • Pediatric experience preferred
  • Child growth and development education required

Licensure, Registration, and/or Certification

  • Licensed by State of Texas: LMSW, LCSW or LPC
  • CPR Heartsaver; CPI Non-Violent Crisis Intervention - Units 1-7 & 9-10.
Qualified as a QMHP (Qualified Mental Health Professional) by the Texas Department of Health.
