Responsible for making rounds on the nursing units to assess their needs for assistance, including the East Tower. Responsible for insuring the provision of, and continuously evaluating the nursing care that patients and their families receive for the purpose of ascertaining that it supports and is congruent with the medical staff's plan of care and is pursuant to the hospital's and department of nursing's objectives and policies. Responsible for maintaining a staffing pattern based on knowledge of staff's skills and competencies; patients' needs; expectations of other members of the health team; FVRH standards; Department of Health Regulations; and JCAHO requirements. The nursing director is responsible for staffing the unit for 24 hours, while the Administrative Supervisor alters the staffing pattern as changes arise and in concurrence with the specific nursing director or coordinator.
