Overview M Health Fairview Pediatric Therapy provides pediatric servcies at 12 locations throughout the state of Minnesota. This position is for a Pediatric Speech Language Pathologist to be based in the east metro who will split time between the outpatient therapy clinics in Woodbury and Maplewood, MN. This individual will have the opportunity to be part of a highly collaborative pediatricrehab team and work collaboratively with OT, PT and the pediatric medical team in general. This position is benefit-eligible and is full time, 80 hours per 2-week period (1.0 FTE). In collaboration with patients and families, the Speech Language Pathologist is responsible for providing safe and effective delivery of patient care within scope of practice; this includes examination, evaluation, diagnosis, planning, intervention and establishing outcomes. To be successful, the Speech Language Pathologist must be able to: Partner with the patient and family while performing the Evaluation/Re-evaluation Develop an individualized plan of care through coordination with the patient and family Partner with patients and families to provide skilled intervention Use acceptable medical terminology Follow professional practice standards Complete documentation in a timely manner per department standards Comply with department billing standards Prioritize tasks and patient care for effective time management Understand and follow professional licensure/certification requirements Direct team members and/or supervises students as designated Pursue personal and professional development to support clinical best practice Meet or exceed departmental standards for productivity Identify opportunities for process /quality improvement Participate in and support entity/system initiatives Partner with patient care giver in care/decision making Communicate in a respective manner Ensure a safe, secure environment Individualize plan of care to meet patient needs Modify clinical interventions based on population served Provide patient education based on as assessment of learning needs of patient/care giver Required Qualifications: Masters Degree in Speech Language Pathology Speech Language Pathology licensure in the state of Minnesota or temporary license in the state of Minnesota Basic Life Support prior to the end of orientation Preferred Qualifications: Registered CFY or CCC with ASHA 1+ years of post-graduate Pediatric Speech Language Pathology experience Pediatric Feeding Experience preferred but not required.
