Overview M Health Fairview - Ridges Cancer Clinic, located in Burnsville, MN is a department of University of Minnesota Medical Center. We are looking for a Registered Nurse (RN) to support our busy Oncology/Hematology Clinic with cancer care support services and extensive IV Infusion services. We are the largest cancer care provider in the central metro region. This position is a combination role to work with clinic visits and care coordination and infusion/chemotherapies.

Our patients have access to the latest most advanced treatment options, clinical trials and technology to ensure the best possible outcomes. https://www.mhealth.org/care/overarching-care/cancer-care-adult Nursing duties related to Infusion Chemotherapy assignments include (but not limited to); Manages complex medication and infusion therapies; such as antibiotics, monoclonal antibodies chemotherapy and cytotoxic agents, blood products, infusion therapies (central lines, ports, peripheral IV placement and infusion devices) and associated medications to the adult and pediatric oncology population. Simultaneously manages multiple infusions and daily flow of the infusion center ensuring the highest level of patient satisfaction and experience. Adheres to applicable policy and procedures related to medical and infusion therapy. Maintains a high level of PICC competency and placement techniques. Provide emergent care in the event of anaphylaxis reaction. Recognizes and incorporates ethical principles within the delivery of care Other duties include while working with patients being seen for a CLINIC visit and through telephone /electronic communications, along with rooming, completing education and teaching with patients/families; Recognizes and incorporates ethical principles within the delivery of care. Rooming and educating patients/families Uses EMR to update the medical records so must be comfortable using computers Displays critical thinking skills while managing and accessing patients with acute and chronic pain by using consistent pain tool. Collaborates with patient/family and health care team to validate outcomes and develop and execute a plan of care which include; follow up and consultant appointments, patient education, complex procedures and lab draws. Assesses and delivers health care through telephone encounters with patients and families, using the nursing process framework and specialty knowledge. Directs and delegates duties as appropriate Documents triage advice/recommendations in the medical record and makes referrals while working as liaison between patients and providers. Manages orders including accurate transcription of faxed orders, therapy and treatment plans. Minimum Experience: Experience working in an ambulatory care setting Experience in administering antibiotics, monoclonal antibodies, chemo therapy, blood products and associated medications.
