Responsibilities

FOCUS, or Families OverComing Under Stress, is a program that helps military families manage the challenges of deployment and reintegration. As the FOCUS Resilience Trainer, your key duties include:

  • Facilitate delivery of the FOCUS model, a manualized family training intervention and group workshops for military parents and children
  • Complete and document individual intakes/orientations and psychological assessments with family participants and service encounters
  • Assist with program outreach within the military community
  • Oversee and/or ensure tracking and monitoring families' participation in services
  • Complete short-term tracking of families that participate in the program

NOTE:
•This position is based in Honolulu, Hawaii
•This project is funded by the United States Department of Defense – Office of the Secretary of Defense. By contract, this position is limited to U.S. citizens.
•May convert to career.

Qualifications

  • This project is funded by the United States Department of Defense – Office of the Secretary of Defense. By contract, this position is limited to U.S. citizens.
  • Ph.D. or M.A. in Psychology or related fields.
  • Experience and/or knowledge about working with military populations.
  • Experience in the area of family and/or child services.
  • Experience delivering interventions to family and/or children in individual and/or group settings. 
  • Experience working with children, teens and adults. 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. 
  • Must have valid driver’s license, auto insurance and access to an automobile.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and Access. 
  • Ability to work flexible hours.
