Service Desk Level 1 position within the Desktop Engineering family developing and applying working knowledge in one or more IT disciplines that support Cook Children's technical infrastructure. Jobs in this family are responsible for developing, testing, maintaining, installing, and/or deploying technologies. In addition, they are responsible for the establishment, development, and promotion of standard architectures, as well as hardware and software components. This role provides consulting services to application development teams and/or customers regarding technologies and the application of specific technology standards. Disciplines for this job description include: Provide phone support for desktop and laptop Windows based operating systems, computer hardware troubleshooting, application monitoring and support, system based monitoring utilizing respective enterprise level monitoring tools, server level monitoring and event tracking, executing application routines and batch files, Microsoft Office and Exchange troubleshooting active directory group policy and security troubleshooting, system imaging utilizing enterprise level tools, network and telecommunications tier-1 level troubleshooting.
Position requires at least 2 years of direct experience and a high school diploma or equivalent OR an Associate’s Degree in IS and limited experience.
A+ certification is preferred
Troubleshooting skills focusing on network connectivity, Windows 7, Windows 10 and applications.
Ability to work any shift in a 24/7, fast paced environment
Must have ability to communicate confidently and professionally with non-technical users, verbally and in email.
Must be able to demonstrate a customer first approach to technical support
Critical thinker - ability to take information given from a caller and to be able to narrow down the issue.
Solid experience in call center technical support
