This position is responsible for running the daily operations of Peaks Tech Zone. The Health Technology Advocate acts as a liaison between patients/families and the wide array of digital technologies utilized by Cook Children’s to elevate healthcare experiences and outcomes. The HTA will provide education and hands on support to Cook Children’s patients and families who manage their care through clinical and digital technology beyond the walls of the clinic and medical center. In addition, the Health Technology advocate will promote the value and utilization of MyCookChildren’s Patient Portal as well as maintain and provide technical support for the therapeutic gaming program within Peaks Tech Zone. This position offers excellent customer service and serves as the bridge between technology and care providers in collaboration with clinical, child life, and education partners. The Health Technology Advocate exhibits behaviors that reflect the values of Cook children’s (Safety, Caring, Integrity, Collaboration, Innovation, and Giving).
High school diploma or equivalent required. Associates preferred • Any one of the following: o Two years experience working in the technology products field with customer (internal and external) service contact and problem resolution (includes diagnosing, troubleshooting, repairing, or selling technology products). o Five years experience customer service with problem resolution to include Tier 2 or higher issues/complaints.
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities: • Strong verbal and written communication skills and ability to explain technical instructions and concepts in person, over the phone, or in an email. • Technology trouble shooting skills preferred • Experience actively using and learning about consumer electronics • Ability to work successfully as part of a team • Ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced environment • Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights and weekends

Peaks Tech Zone is a fun and innovative space where children and their families in our communities learn about healthcare devices, mobile applications, and emerging technologies that promote wellness, better treatment adherence, and improve patient outcomes. These are in addition to showing them how to utilize all of the tools our patient portal has to offer. Our staff will play a key role in serving as the bridge between our clinical experts and the technology world in order to allow patients and families to navigate care plans with technological support. The Peaks Tech Zone offers opportunities for self-directed learning, as well as innovative retail vending and interactive gaming for children while parents and caregivers receive guidance.
