JOB DESCRIPTION
Nemours Children’s Hospital, Florida is seeking a Chief Quality & Patient Safety Officer (CQPSO), to join our growing team in Orlando, FL.
The Chief Quality & Patient Safety Officer will serve as the senior physician leader and champion for advancing Nemours Children’s Hospital, Florida’s pediatric clinical quality and safety endeavors. The CQPSO will direct clinical performance, patient safety, clinical analytics, informatics and quality programs to meet established patient safety, quality and compliance goals. This person will collaborate and partner with Medical Staff, Chiefs and Chairs, NCH Senior Leader Team, Florida CMO’s, as well as enterprise leaders to smoothly and effectively plan, program, and oversee quality and safety programs. The CQPSO will also collaborate with the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) for synergetic nursing practice safety and quality program alignment and works to support and advance service excellence strategies. While serving as a member of the Medical Staff Executive Committee, the CQPSO is responsible for providing hospital leadership and the NCH governing board performance results of safety and quality initiatives and provides linkage between NCH quality initiatives and quality and patient safety initiatives.
The CQPSO will also serve as the Florida representative to local, regional and national patient safety organizations and will oversee data acquisition and input into national databases and review data and dashboards. The CQPSO will work collaboratively to ensure readiness with applicable regulatory agencies, including the Joint Commission and the Agency for Health Care Administration, and will participate in and represent NCHFL in regional and national patient safety and clinical quality advancement forums, including leading USNWR, Leapfrog, and similar national recognition efforts.
The CQPSO will be an active member of the NCHFL medical staff, will engage in clinical work at NCHFL in their area of clinical specialty and will report to the NCHFL Chief Medical Officer and the Florida Physician-in-Chief.
