DescriptionSUBFUNCTION DEFINITION: Donor relations positions are responsible for designing, implementing and coordinating an organization-wide comprehensive program that appropriately and consistently promotes interaction with and recognition of donors at all levels.
Project Management: Lead or assist in leading one targeted major gift fund-raising project and provide accountability for reaching project goals. Assist in departmental projects; events and programs. Remain current on legal and programmatic changes affecting development functions.
REPRESENTATIVE RESPONSIBILITIES???StrategicResponsible for developing relationships and executing strategies that result in major gift income (in this role, defined as individual gifts/pledges of $25,000 to $1 million or more) to Cincinnati Childrens Hospital Medical Center. This position will maintain a portfolio of 100-150 prospects and his/her work is expected to result in $ 1 million to $2 million annually.
???FOUNDATION SPECIFICDevelops and cultivates relationships with program officers at foundations and other non-profit organizations to learn about their objectives and focus, show how Cincinnati Children's would be a good match for achieving their objectives, and obtain an invitation to apply for funding. Prepares and submits letters of intent and grant proposals asking for $50K and higher. Works with Director to determine appropriate project matches for foundation opportunities and requests for proposals. Oversees distribution of leads to department liaisons for research and medical divisions. Collaborates with manager to secure appropriate clearances/approvals for divisions and departments seeking funding. Work with appropriate staff and faculty to obtain information and materials for grant applications, collaborating with department liaisons to secure these materials, where appropriate. Prepare and submit required grant reports regarding use of funding. Collaborate with research team to maintain current, rolling calendar of grant deadlines and foundation opportunities. Collaborate with the Office of Sponsored Programs to ensure that foundation and charitable awards tracked through Sponsored Programs are appropriately recorded by Development as charitable gifts.
???External communicationsFulfill an important, externally-oriented role, representing Cincinnati Childrens to donors, prospects, medical center leaders, volunteers and potentially, national resources as part of the overall effort to raise awareness of and generate support for Cincinnati Childrens both locally and nationally. Specific tasks may include preparing written and verbal presentations and proposals and delivering this information personally to potential funders, representing CCHMC at local foundation, family foundation and not-for -profit board meetings, communicating on behalf of CCHMC in donor meetings, at events, in fund-raising committee meetings and at check presentations. Responsible for all written communications with donors, such as gift verification letters and emails, gift agreement drafts, stewardship reports and email messages to coordinate medical center donor visits with leadership. Helps to recruit and staff campaign and special project committees.
QualificationsEDUCATION/EXPERIENCERequired:???Bachelor's degree in a related field
