SUBFUNCTION DEFINITION: Responsible for building and maintaining the day-to-day operation of computer networks. These networks typically include an intranet, extranet, local area network (LAN), and wide area network (WAN).
Cloud Infrastructure Lead the planning, design and assist with all cloud environments, supporting the change and working towards the adoption and ease of use of cloud technologies. Help lead scope definition, requirements analysis, functional and technical design. Perform application build, product configuration, unit testing, and production deployment. Understand cloud architecture across diverse areas including application development, identity and access management, network management, storage and data access management and cloud security. Support solutions architecture and help evaluate architectural alternatives for private, public and hybrid cloud models, including IaaS, PaaS, SaaS and other cloud services. Have knowledge of cloud architecture and implementation features (OS, multi-tenancy, virtualization, containerization, orchestration, elastic scalability). Define and develop reusable infrastructure components to gain efficiency across multiple solutions. Define delivery standards with stakeholder input and enforce their adoption during solution development. Understand compliance standards and ensure deliverables meet required standards.
Analysis Analyze, design, implement, and maintain moderately complex systems that greatly improves clinical care and patient management. Plan and conduct system testing. Document testing outcomes. Develop technical designs and build tools to automate repetitive tasks to minimize errors and prevent downtime. Design, write, and prepare complete user and technical documentation. Utilizes Development lifecycle process, operating procedures and documentation to implement and support system solutions. Investigate and pilot new solutions and technologies. Lead others in development efforts and provide technical guidance.
Technical Support Provide technical support and third-level problem resolution assistance for production and process issues. Troubleshoot and decipher error messages. Resolves large issues. Utilizes appropriate Change Control methods to implement system solutions. Proactive in the identification of potential issues and conceptualizing solutions. Lead projects to decrease downtime and system issues. Lead and mentor teammates in evaluating and monitoring system performance and functionality to avoid potential issues as well as gathering information for future development needs or feasibility studies. Participate in on-call support rotation and handle incident resolution, problem determination and resolution during that time. Ensure outstanding end-user support is provided, including ongoing monitoring of Service Level Agreements for incident management and collaboration with other areas to ensure customer-centered incident management and support. Adhere to and promote continual adoption of change management policies and procedures. Model outstanding customer service behavior, including timely and effective follow-up with customers. Always maintain CCHMC's service standards of being Courteous, Attentive, Respectful and Enthusiastic team members, and Safe (CARES).
Professional Development Develop knowledge and professional skills through cross-training, literature and attendance at department meetings and vendor education. Develop and maintain positive relationships, both internal and external to CCHMC. Motivate people and encourage teamwork. Work well with others and fosters a positive team environment. Prepare oral and written presentations. Conduct and participate in instructional seminars. Develop expertise in several Cincinnati Children's computer-based systems. Perform other duties as assigned.
