JOB SUMMARY
Works under the supervision of the Practice Manager and Clinical Supervisor to provide services to individuals, families, and groups. Performs assessments, testing, and evaluation for clients. Provides psychotherapy, consultation, and psycho-educational services to a diverse population. Provides community education and consultations, participates in treatment teams. Adheres to the standards of Wyoming Professional License and the rules and regulation for professional standards.
PRIMARY JOB DUTIES
Is actively engaged in the department, solves problems, participates in strategic planning and contributes positively to workplace moral.
Provides assessment, diagnosis, and treatment behavioral health clients.
Provides clinically appropriate therapy utilizing best practices whenever possible.
Achieves a minimum productivity of 90%
Works positively and collaboratively with courts, law enforcement, physicians, hospital staff, Department of Family Services, Probation Offices, Campbell County School District and other community agencies as applicable.
Maintains clinical documentation in a manner as required by department policy, the Standards for the Operation of Community Mental Health and Substance Abuse Programs, and the Medicaid Policies and Procedures Manual, and in accordance, as applicable with SAMHSA TIPS and TAPS.
Maintains competence in multicultural issues and demonstrates respect and understanding for people from diverse cultural backgrounds.
Adheres to established policies and procedures for Kid Clinic, Behavioral Health Services and Campbell County Memorial Hospital.
Actively engages in departmental quality assurance and utilization management activities and processes to include monthly chart reviews.
Provides community-based psychotherapy to individuals, groups and families as applicable.
Maintains professional licensure and obtains educational and training experiences required to maintain that licensure.
Participates in activities to promote mental health and/or the prevention of substance abuse, particularly among children and adolescents, as appropriate.
Must be free from governmental sanctions involving health care and/or financial practices.
Complies with the hospital’s Corporate Compliance Program including, but not limited to, the Code of Conduct, laws and regulations, and hospital policies and procedures.
Demonstrate working knowledge of state and federal laws pertaining to HIPPA, CFR 42 and 45, EMTALA etc.
Performs other duties as assigned.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS
Education
A master’s degree in a mental health discipline or related field is required.
Licensure
Licensed or license eligible as a licensed mental health professional is required.
If not licensed at the time of hire, must obtain licensure or provisional licensure within one month of date of hire.
Able to meet and relate to clients, staff, other employees, employees of community agencies and members of the public at large, in a manner that facilitates delivery of clinical services and presents a positive perception of MHS and CCMH.
Essential Physical Requirements
Must be able to perceive and comprehend spoken and written English language. Must be able to manipulate phone, fax, copy machine and computer to complete necessary documentation. Must be able to speak in clear, understandable and appropriate manner.
Essential Mental Abilities
Must be able to assess, appraise, evaluate, and understand complex and technical mental health concepts and client functioning. Must be able to communicate to clients, professionals, employees and the public at level appropriate to the circumstances.
Essential Sensory Requirements
Hearing and vision must be correctable to a level which makes perception and understanding of written and spoken language easily accomplishable.
Exposure to Hazards
OSHA CATEGORY II. Tasks that involve a potential exposure to blood, body fluids or tissues. Identified job duties do not include a reasonable anticipation for the potential contact with blood or contaminated body fluid but circumstances may occur which may result in the potential for exposure. Use of appropriate protective measures is required for employee (s) engaged in potential exposure situations.
Employees working in healthcare facilities have the potential to be exposed to hazardous materials including Hazardous Chemicals/Drugs, Waste Anesthetic Gases, Radiation, Latex, Biological Hazards, Respiratory Hazards and Ergonomic Hazards. See Hazardous Materials in the Workplace Policy.
Hours | The usual work requirement is for 80 hours per two-week pay period. Usual workdays are Monday through Friday, between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Actual work schedules different from the usually assigned hours may be determined by the need for evening appointments with clients, group therapy sessions, weekend assignments, on call, etc.
Licensed professionals must strictly adhere to the ethical code of their respective discipline.
