Job Description: The Department of Biostatistics and Bioinformatics at Emory University invites applications for a post-doctoral fellowship with a starting date in summer 2023. The starting date is negotiable. The initial appointment is for one year, renewal expected if progress is satisfactory.
The successful candidate will develop methods and software for analyzing brain activity in children with autism spectrum disorder. The overall goal is to develop methods that reduce bias due to motion and improve reproducibility. The project areas include 1) dynamic models of brain connectivity in task functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI), and 2) models accounting for participant motion in resting-state fMRI using causal inference.
The postdoc will work with Dr. Benjamin Risk and co-investigators in the Department of Biostatistics, the Marcus Autism Center, Children's Hospital of Atlanta, and the Emory School of Medicine. Opportunities to collaborate with the clinical team and data collection are available.
Required Qualifications: PhD in biostatistics, statistics, or related quantitative field.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience processing and analyzing neuroimaging data (e.g., FSL, AFNI, SPM, Freesurfer, and/or ANTs); experience with bash scripts and cluster computing; programming experience in R, Matlab, and/or Python; previous publications; strong written and oral communication skills.
