About This Position
ChristianaCare's Supply Chain Administration Department is searching for a Director of Strategic Sourcing to lead, manage, and develop the Sourcing function and all Sourcing relationships at ChristianaCare. This position will direct the procurement staff in the overall policies and procedures as defined by ChristianaCare in acquisition of goods and services. Experience in sourcing as well as management is vital to the success of this position.
Principal duties and responsibilities:
Performs all procurement functions according to established practices and standards.
Develops and implements Supply Chain strategies for Clinical and Non-Clinical products, software, distribution, capital, and services while ensuring alignment and compliance with established goals and objectives.
Optimizes existing GPO relationships, locally negotiates contracts, and executes against innovative sourcing agreements to achieve savings.
Builds and maintains a competitive contract and vendor portfolio and leads supplier relationship management
Negotiates major contracts; manages drafting and negotiation by staff of more standard or day-today contracts.
Promotes Supplier Diversity and Inclusion initiatives within Supply Chain.
Directs services and activities impacting interdepartmental operations, and effects changes to improve.
Prepares and monitors annual departmental budget.
Prepares and oversees departmental monthly management reports for Administration.
Establishes goals/objectives for each fiscal year, in alignment with broader strategic planning at system and supply chain levels
Acts as hospital liaison for corporate programs as well as external alliances (e.g., Premier, Association of Delaware Hospitals, Inc.).
Maintains confidential personnel records, makes staffing recommendations and maintains overall responsibility for direction and operation of staff.
Attends management meetings.
Makes presentations to new managers in orientation program as related to Sourcing, Contracting, or new employees in relevant department.

Category Managers, Contract Managers, and Contract Specialists
Education and experience requirements:
Bachelor's Degree required. Master's degree in business, management, supply chain or a health care-related field preferred.
Five years progressive management experience and preferably in the healthcare field.
An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted.
