The incumbent serves as a Social Work Program Coordinator, locally titled Caregiver Support Program (CSP) Manager, which provides a state-of-the-art continuum of services, education, and resources to caregivers of Veterans with complex needs. The incumbent oversees service delivery and coordination of care activities for family caregivers who provide personal care services to eligible Veterans regardless of period of service. Basic Requirements: United States Citizenship: Non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy. Education. Have a master's degree in social work from a school of social work fully accredited by the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE). Graduates of schools of social work that are in candidacy status do not meet this requirement until the School of Social Work is fully accredited. One year of experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level. Experience must demonstrate possession of advanced practice skills and judgment, demonstrating progressively more professional competency. Candidates may have certification or other post-master's degree training from a nationally recognized professional organization or university that includes a defined curriculum/course of study and internship, or equivalent supervised professional experience. Licensure/Certification. Individuals assigned as social worker program coordinator must be licensed or certified at the advanced practice level, and must be able to provide supervision for licensure. (a) Skill in coordinating and implementing one or more specialty program(s), across the facility. Manage and control the use of data related to these programs regarding day-to-day functioning and program evaluation. Serve as the WCHCS POC for all inquiries and outreach requests regarding eligible PCAFC and PGCSS caregivers. Support customer satisfaction, wellbeing, and service delivery by addressing Congressional inquiries, VISN, and VACO action items as requested. Collaborate with facility, VISN, and VACO staff to develop and implement solutions - participating in national, regional, and VISN operational calls Develop and facilitate CSP-focused direction, orientation, coaching, in-service training, staff development, and continuing education programs for VA-facility staff and the community. Work collaboratively with internal staff, VISN and VACO leadership, and external stakeholders to expedite service delivery. Recognize gaps in workforce competencies and ensure supervised staff who require knowledge and skill development receive the training to necessary to execute their duties. Perform the administrative and personnel management functions relative to staff supervised, including personnel actions, clinical supervision, consultation, negotiation with other departments, and quality improvement. Plan, organize and coordinate administrative, operational, clinical and personnel activities for the CSP program. Responsible for all aspects of program staffing, work assignments, budget, and treatment services.
