Under general direction, performs the work of and provides leadership for Call Center Advisor personnel engaged in tele-health services including, but not limited to, physician, diagnostic and program appointment scheduling, physician specialty consult line requests, educational classes/seminar schedules, physician/program/patient satisfaction surveys and pre-appointment/scheduling reminders. Functions as a lead and resource person for the department. Assists in the selection, scheduling, evaluating and monitoring the work of Call Center Advisor personnel. Reviews patient accounts for accurate collection of demographic data, ensures insurance verification and authorizations have been obtained, and investigates/resolves complex eligibility or insurance verification problems. Investigates/resolves other complex and/or sensitive problems, as needed. Assists with reviewing and monitoring resource utilization and recommends appropriate scheduling adjustments. Prepares and distributes departmental reports. Coordinates and participates in special projects, and other duties as assigned. Performs the duties of a Call Center Advisor.
1. High school diploma or equivalent. Two to five years of college level course work and/or related experience in health care field preferred.
2. Three to four years experience with direct patient and/or physician contact in a clinical or administrative setting, preferably within the DMC system in order to be familiar with medical practices, services available and system design.
3. One to two years experience in insurance, medical record, billing or related area.
